SME Careers seeks a Norwegian Language Specialist to review AI-generated Norwegian content and provide high-quality rewrites and feedback on accuracy, fluency, tone, and cultural appropriateness. This hourly remote contractor role focuses on evaluating outputs and ensuring linguistic quality across multiple domains.

You will identify errors, justify fixes, and help improve model performance through rubric-based evaluation and detailed feedback in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Norwegian/English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Native or near-native Norwegian proficiency (reading and writing).
• Strong professional English proficiency (C1).
• 3+ years of language-focused writing/editing/translation or related work.
• Deep understanding of Norwegian grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style.
• Ability to explain language issues and fixes.
• Comfort with Bokmål and/or Nynorsk; specify you can support.
• Attention to detail for subtle meaning shifts and culturally mismatched phrasing.
• Reliable, self-directed, hourly remote work across time zones.
• Prior AI data training/annotation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: prompts and gold-standard Norwegian answers across domains.
• Evaluate and rank AI outputs for fluency, tone, and cultural appropriateness.
• Detect unsafe or misleading content, factual hallucinations, bias; validate reliability.
• Provide high-quality rewrites and model answers demonstrating best practices.
• Rate and compare AI responses based on correctness and overall quality.
