Job summary

Rambøll is seeking a Project Manager for its Power Systems department to lead complex energy projects with a focus on delivering technical excellence and client value. You will collaborate with clients, external stakeholders, and internal technical leads to plan, execute, and deliver projects in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, plus a solid electrical engineering background and experience in project ownership

Qualifications

  • Requires a degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering or a related field.
  • Strong background in the energy sector with recent project management experience.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management across countries and disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver HV design and engineering solutions.
  • Serve as key client interface, ensuring clear scope, safeguarding client interests, and building long-term partnerships.
  • Oversee tendering, contract negotiations, and stakeholder management.
  • Coordinate with allied business areas to ensure integrated, cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage technical and commercial project aspects, aligning with schedules and budgets.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers across borders.

Your new role

As our new Project Manager, you will work closely with Clients and external stakeholders as well as internal technical leads to support the planning, execution, and delivery of power systems projects across our growing portfolio. This is a role for someone with excellent communications skills, proactive mindset and understanding of electrical engineering, eager to continue growing in project ownership, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

As a department within a large global multidisciplinary consulting firm, we greatly benefit from the extensive interdisciplinary network that Rambøll offers.

Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Leading multidisciplinary project teams, including both local and global experts, to deliver high-quality HV design and engineering solutions
  • Acting as a key client interface—ensuring clear scope understanding, safeguarding client interests, and building long-term partnerships
  • Overseeing tendering activities, contract negotiations, and stakeholder management
  • Coordinating with other business areas (e.g., buildings, transport, environment, water, management consulting) to ensure integrated, cost-effective, and reliable solutions
  • Managing technical and commercial aspects of projects in a dynamic environment, ensuring alignment with schedules and budgets
  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment across borders
  • Supporting site and field activities, including follow-up and quality assurance
About you
  • A degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering, power systems engineering, or related field.
  • Background from the Energy industry role, with strong, recent experience in a Project Management position
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to collaborate across countries and disciplines
  • Experience in client-facing roles, with a track record of building trust and delivering value
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with project management tools
  • Proficiency in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMI) is an advantage, but not required
  • Commitment to mentoring, knowledge sharing, and supporting the professional growth of colleagues
