Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team in Drammen. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and delivery of automation systems for vessels. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and shipyards to ensure that propulsion, power management, alarm, monitoring, and vessel safety systems are delivered to the highest technical standard and in compliance with international regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design vessel-specific automation systems and ensure documentation aligns with functional specifications, system architecture, and class requirements
  • Prepare and maintain drawings, descriptions, and system interfaces
  • Coordinate integration of automation solutions and support FAT, HAT, and Sea Trials
  • Act as technical point of contact for automation scope within assigned projects
  • Manage deliverables and interfaces with engineering disciplines to secure aligned schedules
  • Collaborate with vendors for delivery, configuration, and integration of hardware and software
  • Communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution
  • Ensure solutions meet safety, reliability, and performance standards in accordance with rules and regulations
  • Maintain quality documentation for class approval, project execution, and handover
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or relevant technical field (formal education can be replaced by proven experience)
  • Experience working with marine automation systems such as propulsion control, PMS, and alarm/monitoring
  • Knowledge of PLC/DCS automation systems and industrial communication protocols
  • Strong project coordination skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment
  • Structured, solution-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
