Product Engineer – Gas Turbines
A Snapshot of Your Day

At Siemens Energy, we’re re‑imagining what efficient, reliable, and sustainable power looks like.

Join our team in Kongsberg and help shape the future of the SGT‑50 industrial gas turbine – a trusted 2 MW machine, continuously evolving through innovation for enhanced performance, manufacturability, and decarbonization.

This is a rare opportunity to work hands‑on with real rotating machinery, from design and tolerance optimisation to full‑scale performance validation — while collaborating with global experts and advanced suppliers.

How You’ll Make An Impact
Product Development
  • Contribute to the full design cycle of a gas turbine engine – from aerothermal concept to detailed mechanical design, analysis and validation.
  • Design components such as compressors, turbines, combustors, and casings using principles of thermodynamics, aerodynamics and material science.
Design for Manufacture
  • Turn high‑performance designs into components that can be produced efficiently and consistently.
  • Apply design‑for‑manufacture principles, optimise tolerance, and work closely with suppliers to ensure precision and durability.
  • The role involves tolerance optimisation, understanding material behaviour, and close cooperation with manufacturing partners to achieve precision, repeatability, and long‑term durability without over‑engineering.
Innovation & Analysis
  • Apply advanced analytical methods such as FEA, CFD, and thermodynamic modelling to predict performance and validate design intent.
  • Explore new materials, computational methods, and design concepts that enhance efficiency, reliability, maintainability and sustainability.
Collaboration & Integration
  • Work in a global, multidisciplinary environment with experts across combustion, materials, and mechanical design to deliver world‑class engineering solutions.
What You Bring
  • A curious, analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex engineering challenges
  • Ability to think in systems, balancing design, performance, and manufacturability
  • Background in rotating equipment, applied mechanics, or detailed analysis
  • Strong communication skills and a drive for continuous improvement
  • Structured approach and attention to detail, combined with sound engineering judgement
  • Thrive in multidisciplinary environments with combustion experts, materials scientists, and mechanical designers working together toward shared results and actionable outcomes
  • Motivated by improvement – enhancing efficiency, reliability, and quality through thoughtful, data‑driven decisions.
