Job summary

KONGSBERG Discovery is seeking a Product Advisor to join the Vessel Robotics team in Vestfold, Norway. You will help develop next-generation autonomous underwater robotic solutions, translating operational needs into robust product requirements and collaborating with engineering, partners, and customers to deliver measurable value across the lifecycle.

You will work with Product Managers and partners to define capabilities, validate designs, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Cybernetics, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in product or technology development.
• Strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
• Experience from the maritime industry is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support development and evolution of autonomous underwater robotic products.
• Define, maintain, and refine product and system requirements with Product Manager and Jotun.
• Translate operational, customer, and market needs into clear product requirements.
• Contribute to systems engineering activities, product innovation, and capability optimization throughout the product lifecycle.
• Take ownership of one or more projects and product-related activities.
• Participate in technical verification and product system validation.
• Travel for verification activities, system validation, and conferences.

At Kongsberg Discovery, we are looking for a Product Advisor to join our growing Vessel Robotics product team. You will contribute to the development of next-generation autonomous underwater robotic solutions for some of the worlds most demanding maritime environments. Working closely with our strategic partner Jotun and highly skilled engineering teams, you will help create technologies that support more sustainable and efficient vessel operations.

This is an opportunity to influence products throughout their lifecycle, from concept development and system design to deployment, operation, and continuous improvement. You will help shape future capabilities while ensuring our solutions continue to meet operational, customer, and market needs.

What you will be doing

As a Product Advisor you will combine technical understanding, business insight, and an operator-focused perspective to develop solutions that deliver measurable value. You will act as a link between operators, development teams, and commercial stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Cybernetics, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
• Experience in product development, technology development, or a related technical environment.
• Strong technical understanding and the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
• Strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
• A genuine interest in turning technology into value for customers and operators.
• Experience from the maritime industry. This is beneficial, but not required.
