Job summary

Mettler-Toledo Cargoscan AS is a world leader in dimensioning and data capture for the transport and logistics industry, based in Oslo. The Procurement Engineer role is a key driver in acquiring cutting‑edge components, parts and services to uphold our quality and innovation.

You will collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Quality and Production, negotiate contracts and drive the supplier lifecycle using SAP ECC, ensuring materials meet regulatory and technical standards.

Qualifications

• Understand technical drawings, specifications and manufacturing processes.
• Experience sourcing suppliers and negotiating pricing, while ensuring quality.
• Experience solving supply chain issues and coordinating with engineering/production.
• Solid understanding of purchasing processes and ERP maintenance.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field; relevant experience can compensate.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and understand complex technical specifications and drawings.
• Source, evaluate and qualify suppliers for high-quality components and services.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery terms and purchase agreements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production to ensure material compliance.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct audits, implement corrective actions.
• Manage procurement lifecycle: PO, expediting, disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory and sustainability goals.
• Utilize SAP to streamline procurement activities.
