Job summary

The University of Oslo invites applications for a PhD Research Fellow in Digital Entrepreneurship in the Department of Informatics, starting no later than 5 January 2027. The three-year fellowship may extend for a fourth year for teaching, supervision, and research assistance.

The project investigates failure in digital ventures, recruiting ventures founded by MSc alumni with STUD-ENT funding, offering co-authorship and collaboration across ENT and DIN groups.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in entrepreneurship, innovation, management, information systems, informatics, psychology or related field.
• Foreign completed degree (M.Sc.-level) corresponding to a minimum of four years in the Norwegian educational system.
• Demonstrated experience with qualitative research methods (e.g., interviewing, narrative analysis, comparative case studies).
• Demonstrated ability to engage with abstract, conceptual, or theoretical work.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Dissertation will be article-based with supervision by faculty in the ENT group and a co-supervisor from the DIN group.
• Recruit and study ventures founded by alumni of the MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management programme.
• Collaborate within the department’s broader research environment and seek co-authorship opportunities.
