Job summary

NTNU Norwegian University of Science and Technology invites applications for a fully-funded PhD position in modelling marine larval dispersal and spatial population genetics. You will work within the Department of Biology on an international, interdisciplinary team, developing computational methods and biophysical models to understand genetic structure in marine metapopulations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in biology or related field with strong quantitative background.
• Proven ability to analyze genetic data and run simulations.
• Experience with coding (R, Python, MATLAB) and Linux command line.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement computational analyses for population genetics and demography.
• Use simulations and biophysical models to study larval dispersal and gene flow.
• Produce a high-quality PhD thesis and publish results in international journals.
• Present findings at international conferences and collaborate with international partners.
