The successful candidate will develop tools for performance and degradation analysis of electrocatalyst layers for alkaline water electrolysis, with access to in situ

Qualifications

• Professional background in experimental electrochemistry and nanotechnology.
• Experience in cell assembly and operation of single cell test stations.
• Master's degree with a major independent project (minimum 30 ECTS).
• Strong academic record with average grade of B or better on NTNU scale or equivalent.
• Experience in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
• Experience in manufacturing electrocatalyst layers, MEAs and characterization.
• Experience in assembly of AEM water electrolysis cells.
• Experience in using single cell test stations.
• Ability to interact with students (teaching/supervision) is an advantage.
• Good oral and written Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.

Responsibilities

• Carry out experimental electrochemistry experiments (e.g., voltammetry, EIS, LSV, chronoamperometry).
• Characterize degradation processes using in-situ methods and ICP-MS.
• Manufacture electrocatalytic layers and MEAs; perform inks preparation, spraying, templating.
• Conduct structural/morphological characterization (XRD, microscopy, Raman).
• Analyze results and communicate with industry and research community.
• Disseminate findings through reports, social media, and conferences.
• Complete the doctoral education until a PhD is awarded.
• Carry out high-quality research within the described framework.
• Mentor master students and participate in group activities.
