Job summary

NTNU in Trondheim invites applications for a 3-year PhD position in the Department of Energy and Process Engineering within the MSCA SurPhase network. The project focuses on CFD modelling of boiling and condensation for low-GWP refrigerants, under Prof. Maria Fernandino’s supervision.

The candidate will develop numerical methods in MATLAB/Python, collaborate across national and international partners, and contribute to publications while pursuing a PhD.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering with a major independent project (minimum 30 ECTS) equivalent to a Master’s thesis.
• Good oral and written English skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement models for heat and mass transfer within diffuse and sharp interface methods
• Contribute to academic publications, project reports and other dissemination activities
• Participate in meetings with supervisors and colleagues
• Engage in secondments as part of the project training activities
• Participate in structured training programs and network events organized by the consortium
• Collaborate with other doctoral candidates in the consortium
