Job summary

Alstom in Oslo is seeking a part-time Train Captain to support the Product Introduction team. You will act on board as the Train Validation Engineer representative, coordinate on-board staff and manage test configurations for dynamic testing.

Your role requires knowledge of railway operations, strong planning and the ability to give clear driver instructions. Fluency in Norwegian and English is essential for cross-functional collaboration across sites.

Qualifications

• Strong coordination with cross-functional teams and clear instructions.

Responsibilities

• Act as the certified Train Captain and represent the Train Validation Engineer on board during validation, certification, test and commissioning activities.
• Prepare test implementation by confirming staffing, tools, on-board spare parts and train configuration, then coordinate all on-board contributors and give clear instructions to the driver.
• Enforce the Quality Management Plan, Level 1 inspections and safety protocols for trains and train riders during dynamic testing.
• Oversee dynamic test execution and train movements, maintain the test book and produce commissioning assessments and failure reports for the Tests Manager.
• Support troubleshooting and site tests while sharing knowledge to strengthen team capability and safety culture.
