Job summary

MaineHealth Orthopedic Sports Surgery – Stephens Hospital in Norway, ME seeks a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join an experienced orthopedic team. Under physician supervision, the APP provides medical care in office and supports orthopedic surgery in the OR and clinic.

Primary schedule is Monday–Friday with a possible four-day week after orientation; OR assist with supervising physician and hospital rounding; competitive compensation with recruitment bonus, relocation,

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Physician Associate/Assistant program or a Nurse Practitioner with an Acute Care Certification.
• Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
• NCCPA certification for Physician Associate/Assistant or ACNP for Nurse Practitioner
• Current BLS required
• Knowledge of patient assessment techniques including medical histories, performing evaluations and wellness diagnosis
• Knowledge of indications for proper techniques for office procedures
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Experience: Orthopedic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care through office-based evaluation and treatment of outpatients.
• Provide orthopedic surgical support in OR and clinic under supervision.
• Assist in operating room with primary supervising physician and participate in hospital rounding.
