Overview

Mason - Alta, Canada

We are in search of a skilled Mason to join our team in Alta, Canada. As a Mason, you will be responsible for building and repairing structures using various materials such as brick, stone, and concrete. Your expertise in masonry techniques and attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of our projects. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of experience working as a Mason and be able to work without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and follow specifications to determine the layout of structures
• Measure and cut materials to fit specific requirements
• Lay out patterns or foundations using hand or power tools
• Mix mortar or grout according to standard formulas
• Spread mortar or other adhesives onto surfaces for bonding
• Align bricks or stones and remove excess mortar with trowels
• Apply sealing agents or caulking around windows, doors, or surfaces
• Clean working area and equipment after completing job

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mason with at least 5 years of work experience
• In-depth knowledge of masonry techniques, materials, tools, and equipment
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately
• Strong attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination
• Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions
• Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
