Job summary

Vard Interiors AS, part of the VARD Group, is seeking a Cost Estimator HVAC to join our team in Ålesund. You will prepare cost estimates for ship interior projects and collaborate with engineers, suppliers and customers to ensure accurate costings.

The role requires knowledge of shipbuilding, experience with interior and HVAC, strong Excel skills, and fluency in English. You will work onsite and participate in site visits across projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant higher education, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Knowledge of shipbuilding processes, materials and project costing.
• Experience from the interior and/or HVAC industry is an advantage.
• Technical understanding and commercial awareness.
• Excellent Excel and general software skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain cost estimates for products, services, and ship interior projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, RFQs and other project documentation.
• Identify and quantify materials, labour requirements and other project cost drivers.
• Develop and maintain project calculations and technical proposals.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, customers and subcontractors to clarify project requirements.
• Monitor actual costs against estimates and support cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain and continuously improve cost databases and estimation tools.
• Participate in site visits and gather relevant information to support cost assessments.
