Job summary

Piano is building an LLM-powered intelligence platform featuring a customer-facing chatbot and enterprise-grade ML services. You will work across full-stack development, ML model integration, and knowledge management to deliver AI-powered features for Support, Client Success, Engineering and Executives.

The role emphasizes context engineering, model evaluation, and integration with frontends (React) and backend APIs, operating in a cloud-native environment with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, preferably building production ML or data-driven products.
• Fluent in Python.
• Experience with modern front-end tech (React or comparable).
• Experience shipping and operating production ML/AI services (batch & real-time).
• Cloud-native mindset: Docker, Kubernetes, observability, CI/CD, version control.
• Strong engineering skillset with ability to create production-grade code.
• Excellent communication in English; comfortable explaining trade-offs to both engineers and execs.

Responsibilities

• Evolve our customer-facing chatbot by building full-stack features and improving latency.
• Transform the chatbot into an agentic platform with tools, live data access and cross-team workflows.
• Manage and leverage Piano's institutional knowledge through ingestion, organization and versioning.
• Reimagine Piano products by integrating AI capabilities into core platforms and features.
• Deliver production-grade systems deployed on Kubernetes with robust CI/CD pipelines and monitoring.
• Drive team excellence through best practices in testing, code reviews and documentation.
