GE HealthCare in Oslo seeks a Lead Scientist in Synthetic Chemistry to drive design and synthesis of novel molecules for contrast agents and molecular imaging, advancing programs from early research toward clinical development.

You will lead cross-functional teams, contribute to regulatory submissions, and embed EHS principles in daily lab work while delivering robust scientific solutions across analytical development, formulation, manufacturing, quality and regulatory affairs.

Qualifications

• PhD in Organic Chemistry or Inorganic Chemistry with a strong synthetic chemistry background.
• Strong scientific problem-solving skills and ability to address scientific and technical challenges.
• Experience with process development and scale-up.
• Ability to write solid scientific reports in support of regulatory documentation, and to edit the scientific parts of patents.
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently while effectively contributing to cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Responsabilités

• Design and synthesis of new molecules from mg to multi-kg scale.
• Execute non-GMP synthesis and analysis of molecules related to our R&D portfolio.
• Lead scientific problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to outsourcing activities in the field of organic chemistry.
• Builds EHS principles into the day-to-day laboratory work and decision-making.
• Brings strong chemistry expertise into cross-functional project teams, helping to shape the project strategy, assess risks, solve problems, and make sound technical decisions.
• Perform and report characterization studies as needed.
• Clearly communicate experimental data through reports and presentations.
• Contribute scientific and technical expertise to regulatory documentation and submissions, ideas and IP development.
• Work closely across functions, including analytical development, formulation, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory affairs, to move projects forward.
