IT Manager at Svalbard

We are in search of a highly qualified and motivated IT Manager to join our team in Svalbard. As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our company's information technology systems and infrastructure. This includes managing a team of IT professionals, implementing and maintaining technology solutions, and ensuring the security and reliability of our systems.

We are looking for a driven and experienced IT Manager who is passionate about technology and has strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of IT professionals, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
• Develop and implement technology strategies to support the company's goals
• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems
• Ensure the security of our network and data through regular backups and system updates
• Monitor system performance and address any issues that arise in a timely manner
• Work with department heads to identify their technology needs and provide solutions
• Create and maintain documentation for all IT processes, procedures, and policies
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and make recommendations for their implementation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• At least 3 years experience in an IT managerial role
• Strong knowledge of network administration, security protocols, and hardware/software systems
• Experience with budget management and cost control measures
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Experience working in the information technology industry or related field
• Familiarity with cloud computing technologies such as AWS or Azure
• Project management certification (PMP)
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python

Salary

We are offering a competitive salary of 1600$ per month for this position.

We are open to providing visa sponsorship for the right candidate who does not have previous experience in Svalbard.

Location

This position is located in Svalbard, a remote archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. While we prefer candidates who are already located in Svalbard, we are open to candidates from other locations who are willing to relocate.
