Job summary

Sony Corporation in Norway is seeking an IC Digital Design Intern to contribute to CMOS image sensor design and development. You will help design timing and control for pixel readout, amps, ADCs, and noise reduction processing, while developing RTL/firmware to control the sensor and process video data.

You will work with teams in Europe and Japan, taking ownership of design success and contributing across analogue, PI, and product engineering groups.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program with at least one year remaining.
  • Technical background in electronics or software engineering.
  • English language proficiency in academic/work context.
  • Valid permit to work in Norway.

Responsibilities

  • Design, verify and validate IP blocks and related sensor components.

Job description

We are seeking an IC Digital Design Intern who will be involved in the design and development of advanced CMOS image sensors. You will be part of an international team that works in the design of timing and control signals for pixel array readout, amplifiers, analogue/digital converters, signal processing blocks for noise reduction and colour enhancement, as well as I/O interfaces and low noise power supplies for use in Sony Semiconductor Solutions Image Sensors and similar speciality state-of-the-art products. You will be part of a multi-discipline camera and imaging systems team, defining and documenting specifications, as well as developing RTL/firmware to control the sensor and process the video data. You will be a hands‑on contributor who will also take full responsibility for the success of the design. You will work closely with other teams in Japan and the rest of the design teams in Europe, with cross‑functional teams (analogue design, PI, product engineering, and functional safety teams).

The internship will run in the Summer of 2027.

  • Ongoing Study of Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer/Software Engineering
  • Applicants should be currently enrolled in a degree program with at least one year of studies remaining.
  • Academic Background: Technical, Electronics, Software English speaking fluency
  • Valid permit to work in Norway
