We are looking for a Sustainability Specialist responsible for sustainability on our products. Are you our new team member?
In summary, the Sustainability Specialist Product will be part of the ESG team in Oslo. Key responsibility will be to increase circularity related to product and work with projects and initiatives that support circularity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance sustainability efforts and drive circular decisions. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with any partner that shares the same ESG vision as us.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Product circularity
- Be part of developing product related strategy.
- Lead efforts to embed circular design principles into the product development process.
- Collaborate closely with the design, material, and product development teams to incorporate circularity concepts, ensuring that sustainability practices are integral to the creative process.
- Collaborate with internal teams to increase the level of consumer facing care communication.
- Explore and establish recycling programs for end-of-life products ensuring closed-loop systems by collaborating with industry partners and research institutions to stay at the forefront of developments in circular waste management.
Material
- Be responsible for our preferred material list, to keep it updated to best industry practice.
- Have a high knowledge of low impact materials and processes for textile.
- Be responsible for environmental attributes on products, including educating the product teams.
- Collaborate closely with material and R&D teams to ensure alignment.
- Strengthen relationships with wholesale and B2B partners, exploring opportunities for shared circularity initiatives and collaborative sustainability projects.
- Take part in external and internal stakeholder dialogues and meetings to increase awareness about the expectations of us as a company.
- Conduct training sessions for internal teams, raising awareness about circular economy principles and their application in the apparel industry.
Other
- Contribute to the development and execution of ESG strategy.
- Measure, report and manage product related data for both internal and external reporting.
- Stay informed about evolving industry standards related to circular economy.
- Have a good understanding of relevant existing or upcoming legislation related to product circularity.
Skills and merits of the ideal candidate
- Degree in Design, Sustainability, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
- Min 5 years apparel industry experience.
- Long experience working in PLM system, preferably Centric.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
- Familiar with textile production processes and material sourcing.
- In-depth knowledge of circular economy principles and sustainable practices.
- Experience from Higg Index is an advantage.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to drive initiatives from concept to implementation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
