About the Role
Assumes a twenty-four hour responsibility for managing the human and material resources of the clinic in the best effective way in order to provide a proactive, safe and quality patient centered care in an environment which encourages staff to grow.
Key responsibilities
- Management of staff: Conducts timely performance evaluations for each staff member; appoints suitable staff to all necessary clinic assignments; counsels employees and advises Head of Cluster of appropriate actions; makes staff schedule changes to adjust for patient acuity levels and adequate clinic coverage; informs staff about implementation of Clinical Policies and Procedures; keeps Head of Cluster and Clinic Manager informed of problems or personnel issues; promotes open and participative communication among staff; maintains a flexible schedule to be available to staff members; provides a climate in which staff can participate in change or innovations; plans and supports the integration of new staff; responsible for new Employee Orientation, probation period and renewal Evaluation; evaluates with clinic mentors and assistant Head Nurse all new medical staff after probation period.
- Management of the Clinic: Controls and directs the clinic to encourage quality patient care and staff satisfaction; works as part of the Facility Management Team; develops safety, cleanliness, and security standards for the clinic; responsible for the clinic infection control programs; evaluates and monitors the use and replacement of equipment and supplies (supplies ordering, stock control, evaluation of new products, training on new products); promotes Diaverum product strategy; uses supplies and resources in a cost-effective manner; maintenance of water plant and all medical and other equipment.
- Management of Care: Coordinates and sets standards for the delivery of quality care; assists with development of clinic-specific standards; ensures utilization of quality assurance standards and protocols; assigns patient care according to patient needs and staff capabilities; supervises and evaluates the quality of care through patient rounds and quality assurance projects; serves as a member of the Quality Management Committee; participates in Quality Management Review meetings; reviews and analyzes incident reports; participates in clinic audits and ISO and other quality certifications.
- Management and Communication: Interacts effectively with patients, family and staff to maintain standards of professional care; demonstrates sensitivity to cultural and religious beliefs; communicates using recognized medical terminology; promotes positive working relationships within the team; facilitates and supports the integration of new patients; ensures patients receive appropriate information and that the patient education programme is implemented.
- Educational Responsibilities: Promotes professional growth and development of nursing staff; identifies learning needs; coordinates ongoing professional development; plans continuous staff clinic education; assumes responsibility for own learning and development; acts as role model; ensures implementation and supervision of the d.academy Nurse Education program.
Qualifications
- Education: Registered Nurse, Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in dialysis
- Minimum 2 Years’ Experience As Head Nurse Assistant
- Successfully passed a Hemodialysis Training Program
- Certified in BCLS and preferably in ACLS
- Certified and registered with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
