The Heydər Əliyev adına Müasir Təhsil Kompleksi - Xankəndi filialı is seeking a full-time Student Counsellor – Psychologist to support school-aged children in Khankendi. You will address social, academic, emotional, and personal concerns, offering guidance and problem-solving strategies.

The role requires a psychology background, advanced English, and at least two years of counseling experience in education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in school counseling or psychology.
• Advanced English language skills.
• Minimum of 2 years professional counseling experience, preferably in an educational field.
• Good communication, interpersonal and mediation skills.
• Working knowledge of counseling models, methods, and resources.
• Ability to identify and respond to students' needs.
• Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
• Patient, friendly, and accommodating personality.
• Social perception and an understanding of body language.

Responsibilities

• Work with school-aged children.
• Listen to students' concerns regarding social, academic, emotional or personal circumstances.
• Provide students with support and guidance on how to deal with problems.
• Mediate and improve relationships between students, parents, and teachers.
• Counsel individuals and groups as required.
• Conduct assessments to determine students' strengths, weaknesses, interests, and aptitudes.
• Help students develop and improve their skill set.
• Meet with parents and teachers to discuss learning, behavioral, familial and social problems.
• Implement programs to combat substance abuse.
• Evaluate and advise school disciplinary practices for troubled students.
• Promote positive behaviors.
