Job summary

The Youth Project (Nova Scotia) is seeking a full-time GSA Facilitator to design and lead workshops centered on gender justice and 2SLGBTQIA+ realities. The role focuses on youth-centered engagement and capacity building within a unionized SEIU setting in Halifax.

The successful candidate will bring workshop design skills, youth engagement experience, and a passion for social justice to a year-long contract with potential renewal.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and facilitating workshops and curricula on gender justice and 2SLGBTQIA+ realities.
• Experience in project management, community engagement, and grant-based project development and reporting.
• Passion for working with youth and applying care-centric navigation in a 2SLGBTQIA+ context.
• Based in Kjipuktuk (Halifax) with 35 hours/week; unionized position through SEIU.

FULL-TIME GSA FACILITATOR

We are currently seeking a passionate and creative GSA Facilitator.

This position is 35 hours a week and is paid $25.50/hour (with a 3% raise each April) and is a unionized position through SEIU.

The ideal candidate will have an ever-growing understanding of anti-oppression and social justice and be able to apply this knowledge in a way that is welcoming, youth-centered, and engaging. They will have experience in designing and facilitating workshops and/or curriculum specifically in relation to gender justice and or 2SLGBTQIA+ realities. This candidate will also have experience in project management and or organisational capacity building and or community engagement and or grant-based project development and reporting. The ideal candidate will also be passionate about working with youth, can apply care-centric systems navigation skills related to a 2SLGBTQIA+ context, and be excited about creative and collaborative education models.

Based out of our Kjipuktuk (Halifax) office, the position is a year contract with possibility of renewal.
