Job summary

Mercor is seeking experienced web developers to evaluate and compare reference pages against two candidate replications. You will assess layout fidelity, typography, asset handling, and responsiveness at 1920x1080, providing precise, evidence-based explanations for your judgments.

The role requires strong HTML/CSS skills, deep knowledge of browser DevTools, and the ability to articulate complex reasoning clearly in English.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of professional web development experience, shipping interfaces for a living.
• Fluency with hand-written HTML and CSS, semantic markup, and responsive techniques.
• Experience reading scripts and understanding their impact on the DOM, even if not coding daily.

Responsibilities

• Render a reference page and two candidate replications at 1920x1080 and judge which is closer in fidelity.
• Diff visual fidelity in layout, typography, colors, and assets.
• Read source of attempts and grade construction quality with evidence.
• Test responsiveness and explain viewport behavior precisely.
• Provide written, evidence-based justifications for each preference.
• Flag when task cannot be completed from provided material.
