The Corrosion and Tribology Group at SINTEF Industry in Trondheim is looking for an engaged researcher or senior researcherwho not only enjoys corrosionresearch butalsovaluescustomer interaction and project development.
The group is part of adynamic,multidisciplinary research environment within the Department of Materials and Nanotechnology. Here, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to innovation at the intersection of research and industry. We work closely with industry and leading research communities to develop sustainable material technology solutions that strengthen sectors such as oil and gas, renewable energy, aquaculture, infrastructure, and process industry.
Take initiative and actively contribute to research projects and commissioned work within corrosion and corrosion protection.
Plan and follow up experimental work, as well as develop test setups and methods.
Analyze and interpret data to understand corrosion mechanisms, develop tools for failure prediction, and propose mitigation measures.
Build andmaintainstrong relationships with customers and partners through active and professional communication.
Prepare project proposals andparticipatethroughout the project lifecycle, from idea phase and customer contact to project execution.
Communicateresearch results clearly and engagingly, both internally and externally.
A PhD or extensive research experience in corrosion.
Experience in material characterization through research or doctoral work, preferably with practical laboratory experience in industry.
Competence in methods such as EIS, polarization, SEM/EDS, XRD, and metallography.
Ability to combine technical depth with commercial understanding and interest in customer dialogue.
Preferably experience in project management.
Preferably experience in numerical modeling and simulation of corrosion processes.
Passion for technology development and customer-oriented, interdisciplinary research.
Ability to translate industrial challenges and needs into concrete project activities.
Proactive, result-oriented, and structured.
Enjoybuilding relationships and creating new opportunities.
Communicates well in Norwegian and English, both orally and in writing.
Initiative-taking and strong collaboration skills.
