Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to keep our fleet of mixer trucks and heavy equipment running safely and efficiently. This hands-on role requires diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, performing routine maintenance, and coordinating with operations to minimize downtime.

Entry-level candidates welcome with on-the-job training; a strong understanding of diesel engines and safety practices is essential. Valid driver's license and CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certification preferred.
• Willingness to work variable shifts and complete pre-employment screenings.
• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems preferred.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy vehicles.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repairs.
• Rebuild or replace major components such as engine parts.
• Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies in workshop and on job sites.
• Maintain repair records in company systems.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in mixer trucks, loaders, dump trucks, tankers, and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Rebuild, replace, or repair major components such as engine heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs, minimizing downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures in the workshop and on job sites.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work using company systems.
• Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques through ongoing learning.
