Qualifications

• Applicants must hold a Norwegian doctoral degree or equivalent in Fish Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related discipline; doctoral defence required for appointment.
• Fluent oral and written English.
• Relevant experience with zebrafish and fish immunology.
• Solid expertise in transcriptomic analysis, specifically Single-cell RNA sequencing.
• Proficiency in confocal microscopy, Lightsheet microscopy, and image analysis.

Responsibilities

• Characterize gill lymphoid tissues and tonsil-like organ in zebrafish and Atlantic salmon.
• Use scRNAseq and 3D high-resolution imaging to study the branchial cavity immune system.
• Analyze immune cell populations and gene expression of markers of immune functions.
• Collaborate within the Spatial Immunology & Nanomedicines group on the Fish-S.H.I.E.L.D. project.
• Work with zebrafish and Atlantic salmon throughout experiments.
