Executive Director – Initiatives of Change UK

Location: Hybrid/London

Lead the transformation of a values‑driven charity affiliated with a global movement for change. Initiatives of Change UK (IofC) is developing from a programme‑delivery organisation into a collaborative, grant‑making charity dedicated to peace‑building, ethical leadership and community cohesion.

About the role

As Executive Director, you will guide IofC through a pivotal transition, embedding a new grant‑making strategy and shaping the organisation’s next chapter. You will work closely with the Board, a small senior team and external stakeholders to build capacity, secure resources and strengthen the charity’s impact.

Key responsibilities
  • Work with the Board to refine and deliver IofC’s strategic vision.
  • Establish clear, transparent and high‑impact grant‑making processes.
  • Build partnerships with aligned charities, funders and networks.
  • Ensure effective governance, safeguarding and due diligence.
  • Oversee finances, investments and property assets with sound stewardship.
  • Lead and inspire a small, skilled team with compassion and purpose.
Required qualifications and experience
  • Proven strategic leadership, ideally within a charity or foundation.
  • Experience with grant‑making or partnership‑based funding models.
  • Strong operational, financial and governance management skills.
  • Emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Confidence in representing IofC externally, building profile and partnerships.
  • A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, rooted in values.
  • A deep and genuine commitment to IofC’s Christian foundation and ethos.
