Job summary

ESG Analyst / Senior Analyst

Who we are and what we do

Are you motivated by using data, technology and business insight to shape the future of risk management? We are looking for an experienced Analyst / Senior Analyst to help develop, improve and maintain ESG (Environmental - Social - Governance) data value chains in Group Risk Management. In this role, you will work at the intersection of business, data and technology, contributing to data products that support reporting, capital management and portfolio steering across DNB.

You will join a team that develops and operates robust data value chains for ESG and credit risk data. Our ambition is to deliver high-quality, reliable and well-controlled data through continuous improvement, automation, modern technology and strong collaboration across business and technical environments.

Group Risk Management (GRM) is responsible for ensuring a sound and effective second line of defence for risk management in DNB. As an independent control function, GRM reports on the risk situation to the CEO and the Board of Directors and provides advice and insight on financial and operational risks across the DNB Group.

Risk Systems & Governance is part of the Risk Data & Systems division, which provides decision-makers with insight into the group's risk profile. The division is a major consumer of data and supports advanced risk value chains, including IRB (Internal Rating Based) credit risk and ESG data. We work to ensure strong governance, solid processes and high data quality in some of the bank's most complex data and model value chains.

This position will focus primarily on the ESG area. You will act as a bridge between business needs and technical implementation, helping DNB strengthen how we report, manage and use ESG-related portfolio data.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will primarily help build, improve and operate data value chains that are important for DNB's ESG reporting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining infrastructure for ESG data product
  • Conducting change analysis, testing and quality assurance to ensure controlled and reliable data deliveries
  • Monitoring and improving data quality across key ESG data value chains
  • Contributing to efficient, timely and precise data deliveries to internal stakeholders
  • Supporting well-managed data operations, including incident follow-up and continuous improvement
  • Driving migration of data pipelines to new orchestration tools on the IPA (DNB's implementation of AWS) platform
  • Developing data quality monitoring, reporting and dashboards that make risks and issues visible

Who we are looking for

  • Some experience with data engineering, data platforms or analytics environments, preferably on IPA / AWS
  • Experience of building reports, dashboards and visualization tools such as Power BI, is an advantage
  • Good understanding of DNB's core business, customer base and sustainability ambitions, or a strong motivation to build this understanding
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to challenge, investigate and improve data and processes
  • Experience with building, optimizing or operating data pipelines, preferably in complex data environments
  • Practical experience with SQL and Python
  • Familiarity with tools such as dbt (data build tool), GitLab/GitHub, VS Code, Teradata Studio/SQL Assistant, Airflow, Denodo and other IPA tools is an advantage
  • Experience with building or consuming internal and external APIs is beneficial
  • Bachelor or master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in data analysis and modelling using tools such as Python and SQL.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across business and technology teams.
