Job summary

NTNU is seeking a PhD Candidate in Empirical Software Engineering in Trondheim. You will join the Software Engineering group and study continuous software development using empirical methods in collaboration with industry.

The role includes teaching, supervising masters students, and publishing in leading venues. Admission to the PhD programme within three months is required; salary is NOK 580 000 per annum with a 2% pension contribution.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent with at least 30 ECTS in a major independent project.
• Strong academic background with average grade B or better on NTNU scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop research-based knowledge on continuous software development from empirical studies.
• Carry out empirical studies in Norwegian software companies with publication goals.
• Conduct your own studies and participate in project teams with master's students.
• Contribute to teaching activities, including lab sessions and supervision.
• Engage in related research projects or collaborations with public/private sector.
