Job description

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join Dintero and play a central role in shaping how we use data to drive decisions across the business. This is a broad, high-impact role that spans self-service analytics, advanced analysis, data architecture, and risk, making it ideal for someone who is as comfortable advising stakeholders as they are designing technical systems.

You will work at the intersection of product, engineering, operations, and risk, helping Dintero become a truly data-driven organisation.

What You\'ll Do
Democratise Analytics

Enable Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to conduct their own analysis independently. You will build self-service tools, dashboards, and documentation that empower non-technical stakeholders to extract meaningful insights from data - and provide the training and support to help teams become genuinely data-proficient.

Set the Gold Standard for Analytics

Establish and evangelize best practices for analytics and data communication across Dintero. This means defining standards for data quality, analysis methodology, and insight presentation, and creating frameworks and guidelines that ensure consistency and rigor in how the organisation approaches data-driven decision making.

Perform Advanced Analytics

Identify high-impact optimisation opportunities aligned with overall company strategy. You will collaborate closely with Product teams to conduct deep-dive analyses in key business areas, developing data-driven recommendations and proposals for product improvements and business optimisations.

Architect Dintero\'s Data Stack

Design the technical architecture to meet Dintero\'s evolving data needs. You will evaluate tools, platforms, and technologies that support analytics and data operations, and create architectural plans that balance scalability, performance, and business requirements.

Implement Data Architecture

Work with the Engineering team to execute the architectural roadmap, breaking down large initiatives into smaller, deliverable components that provide incremental value, while ensuring implementation stays aligned with the overall architectural vision.

Risk Dashboard & Payments Risk Analytics

Take a leading role in the design and development of Dintero\'s risk dashboards and operational risk analytics, with a specific focus on:

  • Understanding risk operational requirements across payment schemes, with card scheme rules forming the foundational framework for risk management.
  • Collaborating closely with Risk and Compliance, ensuring that outputs fulfil compliance with scheme rules, regulatory requirements, and internal risk appetite, and that a risk-based approach is applied when determining focus and priorities.
  • Facilitating workshops with Risk Agents to capture operational and practical requirements, ensuring that dashboards and analytical tools reflect real-world workflows and are fit for purpose.
What We\'re Looking For
  • Solid experience in data science, analytics engineering, or a closely related role
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language used for data analysis (e.g. Python or R)
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, dashboards, and self-service analytics tools
  • Familiarity with modern data stack technologies (e.g. Hex, dbt, Snowflake, Looker, Airflow, or similar)
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences
  • Experience working in or alongside payments, fintech, or a regulated financial services environment is a strong advantage
  • Knowledge of payment scheme rules, risk frameworks, or compliance requirements is a plus
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Why Dintero

Dintero is building the infrastructure for the future of payments in the Nordics. As a Data Scientist here, you won\'t just analyse data - you\'ll help define how an entire company thinks about and uses it. You\'ll have real ownership, work with a talented cross-functional team, and have a direct impact on product quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory integrity.
