Job summary

Mercury, a European leader in construction solutions, seeks a CSA Package Manager in Kristiansand, Norway. You will coordinate shell & core work, supervise safety and QA, manage schedules and project costs, and liaise with design teams to ensure timely delivery of complex engineering projects for major clients.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Civil or structural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with structural steel, cladding and roofing subcontractors.
  • At least 5 years of site management experience.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and within budgets.
  • Proven track record coordinating and managing small/medium installation projects.
  • Experience handling Industrial Relations issues.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety.
  • Strong IT skills and basic understanding of Electrical/Mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Shell & Core (Concrete/steel frame) work packages.
  • Oversee Site Safety with Mercury Safety Advisor and manage safety files.
  • Manage QA/QC on site with Project Manager and team.
  • Control Project Schedule with Planner, PMs, subs, and engineering/architects.
  • Manage all project costs with QS support: Labour, Materials, Equipment, Variations, Valuations.
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations and subcontractor activities.
  • Ensure subcontractor documentation and safety docs are up to date.
  • Monitor EHS KPI performance and ensure sign-off of safety docs.
  • Attend site meetings, reviews, and handover meetings.
  • Close out project items: Final Account, O&M Manuals, Punch List, safety, QA, relocations.
  • Issue daily reports and weekly safety/labour projections.
  • Develop and implement project procedures with PMs.
  • Handle change management (cost & programme).
  • Review drawings and setting-out details; manage RFIs/TSs and delays.
  • Ensure service penetrations are integrated in basebuild drawings.
  • Liaise with design team to prioritise required information for construction.
  • Think methodically and solve design/development issues.
  • Understand site tech studies, structural detailing and calculations.
  • Maintain overview of projects while handling detailed technicalities.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role
  • Manage the co-ordination of the Shell & Core (Concrete/steel frame), work packages.
  • Management of Site Safety in conjunction with Mercury Safety Advisor, including set up, management of and closing out of safety file.
  • Management of Site QA and QC in conjunction with Mercury Project Manager and team including set up, management and close out of file.
  • Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with Planner, Project Managers, Sub-Contractors and consulting Engineer/Architect to Mercury Engineering and Client requirements.
  • Management of all costs associated with Project with the support of the project QS including:
  • Labour
  • Material
  • Plant and Equipment
  • Variations
  • Valuations
  • Management of all day to day site operations
  • Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Ensure that there is a weekly minuted meeting with sub-contractor.
  • Ensure all Sub-contractor documentation including safety documentation is maintained up to date and filed for future reference.
  • Ensure all EHS KPI’s are actioned and monitor performance of those working for them.
  • All safety documentation to be reviewed prior to EHS and signed off by Package Lead.
  • Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings
  • Close out of all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations, Project Plan – all with the Support of your Project team
  • Issue Daily Report to the Project Manager
  • Issue weekly safety stats & project labour projections.
  • Hold weekly commercial meetings with the commercial team to ensure all variations are been captured and costs issued to the client.
  • Develop and implement company procedures with the project managers
  • Ensure change management is handled correctly (Cost & Programme).
  • Review drawings and setting out details
  • Ensure RFI’s and TS’s are developed and tracked, with any delays escalated.
  • Ensure builders works drawings for services incorporated in basebuild.
  • Carry out distribute & close out CSA snags
  • All other duties associated with this role
  • Liaise with design team and project coordinator to ensure necessary information (as required by construction team) is prioritised (where necessary) and issued is issued in accordance with construction schedule.
  • Ability to think methodically and possessing strong problem-solving skills to resolve design and development issues.
  • Technical skills
  • Understanding of site technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
  • Understanding of structural detailing and required calculations.
  • Sound logical and methodological way of thinking.
  • Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
Essential Criteria
  • Degree qualified in Civil or structural Engineering or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Experience working with a recognised Structural Steel, Cladding and Roofing sub-contractors
  • At least 5 years of site management experience
  • Ability to work to deadlines and within budgets
  • Proven record of coordinating and managing Small/Medium installation projects
  • Experience dealing with Industrial Relations issues
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Good technical knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems
  • Proficient IT skills
