Job summary

BW LNG is seeking a Business Control Manager to join our Oslo-based team and drive financial performance for a global LNG fleet. You will translate fleet data into actionable insights, oversee budgeting processes, and present results to management and partners.

You will work across fleet, finance and leadership, leveraging Oracle BI and ERP tools. The role requires a collaborative mindset, strong numeracy and experience in international maritime finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, finance or a related field.
• Several years of relevant experience in business controlling, performance analysis and financial reporting in an international business.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial and reporting systems; knowledge of Oracle BI or Oracle Cloud preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze fleet performance, including OPEX, drydocking and project costs, with KPIs on safety, environment and availability.
• Translate performance data into insights and advise department heads on improvements.
• Lead the fleet OPEX budgeting process and maintain forecasts for planning.
• Prepare and present performance reporting for management, JV partners and stakeholders.
• Ensure use of Technical Chart of Accounts and SFI codes; support drydocking cost control.
• Act as business coordinator for Oracle BI and help develop shared ERP and fleet-reporting.
• Partner with fleet and Finance teams to harmonize routines and strengthen performance.

We are currently seeking:

Business Control Manager

Join BW LNG in a highly visible role at the intersection of fleet operations, finance and performance. As Business Control Manager, you will turn operational and financial data into insight, support management decisions and help drive performance across our global LNG fleet.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyze fleet performance, including OPEX, drydocking and project costs, and KPIs related to safety, environment and availability.

Translate performance data into clear insights and advise department heads on improvement opportunities and corrective actions.

Lead the fleet OPEX budgeting process and maintain forecasts and budgets for business planning.

Prepare and present performance reporting for management, joint venture partners and other stakeholders, including quarterly performance reviews, leadership presentations and monthly OPEX and drydocking reviews.

Ensure consistent use of the Technical Chart of Accounts and SFI codes, and support drydocking cost control.

Act as business coordinator for Oracle BI and help develop shared ERP, planning and fleet-reporting solutions.

Partner with the fleet and Finance team in Singapore to harmonize routines, improve systems and strengthen business performance.

Serve as a resource on relevant finance and accounting requirements and internal procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, finance or a related field.
• Minimum a few years of relevant experience in business controlling, performance analysis and financial reporting in an international business.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, KPI analysis and management reporting; maritime or fleet-management experience is preferred.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience with financial and reporting systems. Knowledge of Oracle BI or Oracle Cloud is preferred; Hyperion Planning, Power BI, SFI coding or AI tools is an advantage.
• Fluent in English and eligible to work in Norway.
• Analytical, commercially minded and attentive to detail.
• Structured, able to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative communicator who builds strong stakeholder relationships across functions, cultures and locations.
• Improvement-oriented, with a strong focus on quality, as well as both short- and long-term fleet needs.
