Job description

Join our team as a Bid Manager within Kongsberg Maritime’s Energy and Control - Global Customer Support division. You will take the ownership of technical tendering processes for some of our largest and most innovative projects, including upgrades and conversions of sailing vessels as well as new product development initiatives. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, covering most of our products, to ensure that the solution meet our customers’ requirements.

Through close collaboration with colleagues across Kongsberg Maritime, you will help shape the future of our customers’ decarbonization journeys and deliver projects that enable long‑term profitable operations.

Key accountabilities
  • Analyze tenders and establish bid teams using resources from Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Procurement
  • Manage bid teams to develop delivery schedules, engineering responsibility matrices, and system technical specifications
  • Review compliance with customer specifications, involving the right competence areas when deviations or alternatives are needed
  • Develop project cost calculations with input from internal stakeholders and Procurement
  • Compile integrated system quotations for the Sales team and support bid review meetings with Senior Management
  • Drive continuous improvement of the bid management process by capturing lessons learned and identifying risks
  • Champion a solution‑oriented mindset across the Kongsberg Maritime product portfolio
Qualifications and experience
  • Degree in engineering or equivalent relevant experience from the maritime or Oil & Gas sector
  • Strong project management skills and a proven ability to lead teams.
  • Relevant technical experience within the maritime industry (Project Management, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills
  • Knowledge of Kongsberg Maritime’s products and services
  • Commercial mindset—balancing technical detail with business priorities.
  • On‑site experience from retrofit, refit, and conversions at maintenance and repair yards is an advantage
