Job summary

IKM Consultants AS in Stord, Norway, seeks a Mechanical Field professional to act as the project’s main contact and technical authority for Mechanical Completion with Ex compliance. The role focuses on ATEX coordination, interpretation of EN/IEC 60079, and guiding MC/Ex inspectors to prevent non-conformances.

Key tasks include spot checks of Ex inspections, ensuring MCCR-Z-99 completeness, and sharing lessons learned across teams while aligning installation with Ex documentation requirements.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Norwegian regulatory requirements (Havtil) and ATEX directives.
• Industry experience required.
• 3 years of work experience.
• Proven competence in Ex inspection and verification per EN/IEC 60079-14/17.
• Ability to review, validate, and challenge Ex inspection check sheets.

Responsibilities

• Act as main ATEX focal point for all ATEX matters.
• Provide interpretation of EN/IEC 60079 and client requirements.
• Provide Ex clarification and guidance to MC/Ex inspectors.
• Perform spot checks of completed initial Ex inspections.
• Verify that MCCR-Z-99 checklists are completed.
• Communicate lessons learned across teams and sites.
• Ensure consistency between installation, inspection, and Ex documentation.
