Job summary

Oslo University Hospital HF in Oslo, with GliaLab, invites applications for a Researcher (Forsker) or PhD fellow (Stipendiat) in the project AI-Driven Optogenetic Closed-Loop Seizure Control. The role spans animal imaging, electrophysiology, and AI seizure-detection, in collaboration with the Department of Neurology and GliaLab.

Start 01/11/2026, 3-year contract. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a novel, targeted treatment approach for epilepsy using real-time seizure

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in neuroscience, medicine, biology, biomedicine, or related field.
  • PhD (or submission with imminent defense) for Researcher track.
  • FELASA-equivalent certification for lab animal science.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test AI-driven closed-loop optogenetic seizure control.
  • Collaborate with Neurology and GliaLab teams to implement two-photon imaging studies.
  • Publish and present findings from in vivo experiments and AI seizure-detection work.
