Job summary

NEXTWIST is building an AI-first short drama mobile app in Oslo. You will drive Android development, contribute to architecture, and explore AI-powered features, while delivering releases and optimizing playback and monetization.

You’ll work with a lean team and relax with autonomy to experiment and code. Ideal candidates ship real apps, know MVVM/MVI/VIPER, and are comfortable with ad mediation, analytics, and cloud tools.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years building mobile on Android with a real app shipped to the store.
• Understands software architecture MVVM, MVI, VIPER or equivalent.
• Understands design patterns and SOLID.
• Has used an AI coding assistant on real work.
• Able to research new technology and read English technical documentation.
• Self-starting, works well in a team and alone in a fast-growing studio.
• Advantage: ad SDKs/mediation experience (AdMob, Max/AppLovin, Unity, IronSource).
• Advantage: Jetpack Compose familiarity.
• Advantage: streaming or video app experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop the short drama mobile app and participate in architecture design.
• Research concepts and POC modules to validate technical approaches.
• Deploy releases to the store and handle post-launch issues.
• Integrate and tune ad SDKs with mediation and waterfall.
• Optimise video playback for speed, quality, and size across markets.
• Integrate tracking (Firebase, AppsFlyer) for UA decisions.
• Use AI coding assistants as part of daily routine for scaffolding and tests.
• Automate repetitive build/release steps and pipelines.
• Collaborate with AI film production team to ingest metadata, subtitles, packaging.
• Propose AI features like recommendations, translations, subtitles, personalised flow.
• Experiment with new AI tech and contribute ideas freely.
