About the Role

At Zalaris, we manage accounting and payroll services on behalf of our customers. This role plays a key part in ensuring the quality and continuous improvement of the services we deliver.

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Manager to strengthen our accounting and reconciliation processes across multiple countries. In this key role, you will ensure compliance within payroll accounting and reconciliation processes, ensure statutory and internal compliance, and drive quality improvement across our customers. You will be instrumental in building robust controls, audit readiness, and efficient reporting frameworks — while driving automation and continuous improvement across our global operations. This role is part of Managed Services Operations and reports to the SVP Global Operations.

This position is ideal for a person who combines strong accounting expertise with a deep understanding of quality management and process excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Develop the accounting and reconciliation area with accurate and timely reconciliations of trial balances, bank accounts, payroll, social security, pension, and holiday accruals.

Oversee internal controls, quality assurance, and compliance processes within Managed Services Operations.

Ensure full compliance with local accounting standards, IFRS, and internal governance frameworks.

Drive automation, digitalization, and standardization of accounting and reconciliation processes.

Collaborate with auditors, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure transparency and control.

Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for accounting, quality, efficiency, and compliance.

Build competence within the organization by mentoring teams and strengthening accounting and quality awareness.

Document workflows and maintain up-to-date accounting procedures.

Develop, implement and execute Internal Control.

Your Experience and Skills

Minimum 5+ years of experience as a chartered accountant with customer responsibility, including solid expertise in payroll processes, reporting, and reconciliation.

Strong background in reconciliation, financial control, and compliance.

Experience in implementing and executing Internal Control.

Understanding of IFRS and local GAAPs.

Knowledge with ERP/SAP and advanced Excel and Power BI skills.

Experience with automation, process improvement, and risk management.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fluent in English (and preferably a Nordic language).

Proactive, analytical, and structured mindset with a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
