A leading engineering firm is seeking a Workplace Services Engineer to enhance their global digital workplace. This role involves managing Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions, ensuring a secure and efficient environment for users worldwide. As a Modern Workplace Services Engineer, you are the technical authority behind our modern, secure and reliable digital workplace environment. You are responsible for the full lifecycle management of Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions—from design and implementation to daily operations and continuous improvement. This includes Microsoft 365, Windows 11, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop, SharePoint Online and Microsoft Defender.
You work in an international environment supporting colleagues in the Netherlands, Singapore, Czech Republic, China, Brazil and the US. Together with your team, you ensure a seamless digital workplace experience for all users worldwide.
The role is based in Rotterdam (hybrid), for 32–40 hours per week, and requires English and Dutch proficiency.
We expect you to act as a technical expert within the modern workplace domain and take ownership of the full lifecycle management of Microsoft-based workplace solutions. You ensure the digital environment is secure, stable and user-friendly across all global regions.
You play a key role in designing and building new solutions, optimizing existing services, providing third-line support, driving automation, improving security and compliance and ensuring standardization based on CIS Controls and Microsoft best practices.
You collaborate with vendors, contribute to international IT projects and mentor your colleagues where needed.

At least 5 years of experience in a similar (international) role
Proven experience with Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions
Strong command of English and Dutch
Required certifications:
MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator
Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
MD-102: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
AZ-140: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
ITIL v4 Foundation
Preferably knowledge of CIS Controls and/or Microsoft Defender certifications
