De Regenboog in Amsterdam runs a winter shelter for the homeless from November 15, 2026, to April 1, 2027, in collaboration with partners. We seek go-getters for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts to help manage daily operations, answer questions, keep the facility clean, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.

You will conduct conversations with visitors, coordinate with social work colleagues, register guests, and handle basic administrative tasks while upholding house rules and

Qualifications

• MBO+ or HBO level of thinking.
• Familiar with addiction and psychiatry.
• Hands-on mentality and ability to work as part of a team.
• Stress-resistant, good communicator, flexible and decisive.
• Speak at least one other language besides Dutch (preferably Arabic, Polish, or Romanian).
• Available from November 14, 2026, through April 6, 2027, and willing to work outside regular hours.

Responsabilités

• Conduct conversations with visitors about necessities to improve their lives.
• Collaborate with social work colleagues to provide appropriate assistance.
• Register visitors and perform administrative tasks.
• Ensure compliance with house rules and safety regulations.
• Prepare dinner and breakfast and perform household chores.
• Represent De Regenboog in dealings with external parties.
