Job description

Are you deeply rooted in the Windows ecosystem?

Are you a seasoned T-shaped engineer with a strong background in Windows, who understands the importance of automation? If you thrive on innovative problem-solving and thinking beyond the conventional, this opportunity might be perfect for you!

We are seeking passionate Windows Automation Engineers focused on automation to join one of our self-steering customer teams. Here, you'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team of experts who get full responsibility for a customer environment to ensure our 100% customer satisfaction. We handle complex systems that are business-critical using the latest technologies. The team is responsible for the Plan, Build and Run phases of the environment and takes care of the full stack. Private cloud, operating systems, storage, networking, monitoring, automation, technical application management, security, compliancy – we handle it all in the team. No silos here!

As a Windows Automation Engineer, you'll support the customer’s functional management team, ensuring their business satisfaction while continuously seeking improvements. You'll maintain platform security, ensure it is up-to-date and available, and engage in both critical operations and project work. Automation is key, so you’ll do a lot of configuration management in Chef, Infrastructure-as-code in Terraform and general scripting in PowerShell or Python (or anything else that makes sense!).

Who are we looking for?

We prefer candidates deeply rooted in the Windows ecosystem who have witnessed the transformative impact of software on infrastructure.

Ideally, you have experience with:

  • Windows Server (High Availability Clustering)
  • Windows Server Active Directory Domain Services
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • PowerShell/Bash/Ruby scripting
  • Configuration management tools. We use Chef, but experience in Ansible, PowerShell DSC or Puppet helps
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
  • Version Control & CI/CD (Git,CI/CD pipelines)

It would be nice if you also bring some experience in the area of:

  • Networking
  • Linux knowledge
  • Virtualization (VMware)
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

We expect you to be enthusiastic about technology and deeply interested in the customer’s business and application landscape managed by your team. If your goal is not only to implement solutions but also to enhance stability and performance while prioritizing security, we would love to hear from you!

What can you expect as an employer?

At Schuberg Philis, you’ll join a community of engineers with an awesome combination of exceptionally high security standards, an infatuation with automation, and the power to make a positive, sustainable impact on customers’ business. Due to the nature of our customer engagements, there is no pressure on (billable) hours, but we focus on quality and impact – or how we like to call it “freedom & responsibility”. You know best how to deliver the most value.

You’ll also be embedded in a company committed to helping colleagues grow as people and professionals through training, opportunities for knowledge-sharing, and good old-fashioned fun.

Our offices are high quality workspaces, and we go way beyond what is expected. We have productive equipment, good food and drinks, team outings, family days, labs to experiment with innovative technologies, and we’re very active in tech communities, attending and organizing meetups and conferences, and organizing internal knowledge sharing events.

Our indefinite contracts are designed to take care of you both on the job and off. For this role we offer relocation support.
