Job summary

Otherside at Work is seeking an experienced VP Engineering to design and scale an Engineering organization that blends speed, quality and predictability. You will lead modernization efforts, embed AI-native practices, and align technology with business growth as part of the Management Team.

You will also shape platform architecture, security, and DevOps to enable international scale. You will collaborate closely with Product and the CTO to translate ambitious product plans into concrete

Qualifications

• Led and scaled a multi-team Engineering organization in a B2B or enterprise SaaS environment.
• Experience leading Engineering Managers or comparable Engineering leaders.
• Strong track record in organizational scaling, platform modernization and technical transformation.
• Clear vision on AI-native software development and applying AI to improve engineering productivity, quality and speed.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS architecture, cloud, DevOps/SRE, platform engineering, security and software lifecycle management.
• Ability to connect technology and Engineering decisions to customer value, business growth, cost and risk.
• Strategic MT-level perspective with enough technical depth to challenge and guide Engineering.

Otherside at Work is scaling, and so are our ambitions for our technology. As VP Engineering, you will shape how we build software, how Engineering operates and how technology enables our business to grow.

Your challenge? Build an Engineering organization that combines speed, quality and predictability, while leading our transition towards AI-native software development. You will shape how we organize Engineering, strengthen technical leadership and ensure our SaaS platform is ready to scale internationally.

As part of our Management Team, you will have the mandate to shape not only Engineering, but also how technology enables the future of Otherside at Work.

What will you do?

• Build a high-performing Engineering organization, with clear ownership, strong Engineering leadership and teams that can perform sustainably at a high level.
• Increase predictability and speed, creating transparency around capacity, priorities and dependencies while continuously improving delivery and quality.
• Lead our move towards AI-native Engineering, embedding AI, automation and agentic technologies throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Drive the evolution of our SaaS platform, balancing modernization and technical debt with scalability, security, reliability and maintainability.
• Strengthen Engineering excellence, including Developer Experience, DevOps/SRE, observability, security, privacy and operational resilience.
• Shape company strategy as an MT member, translating product, technology and business ambitions into the Engineering capabilities and investments needed to deliver them.

You will work closely with Product and the CTO as strategic peers: Product drives customer value and product direction, the CTO shapes our long-term technology vision and architecture, and you build the Engineering capability that turns these ambitions into reality.

What do you bring?

We are looking for an experienced Engineering leader who has:

• Led and scaled a multi-team Engineering organization in a B2B or enterprise SaaS environment.
• Experience leading Engineering Managers or comparable Engineering leaders.
• A strong track record in organizational scaling, platform modernization and technical transformation.
• A clear vision on AI-native software development and experience applying AI to improve engineering productivity, quality and speed.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS architecture, cloud, DevOps/SRE, platform engineering, security and software lifecycle management.
• The ability to connect technology and Engineering decisions to customer value, business growth, cost and risk.
• The strategic perspective to operate at MT level, combined with enough technical depth to challenge and guide Engineering.
