As a vehicle shifter at UPS, you know what’s going on at the yard. You have an exemplary function and understand the value of punctuality. Nothing happens without you realizing it, and you intervene when necessary. That means that you also dare to address your colleagues when things aren’t going as they should.
Before you start, you check with the help of a checklist whether your car is in order. Then you start with your work shift at the yard, receiving all assignments via an on-board computer. During the day you regularly communicate with the control room. At the end of your shift, you ensure that all containers and trailers are properly closed, and you also check your car again. Are there any defects? Then you report this before you go home.
