Job summary

Progressive is seeking a Validation Engineer to join its multidisciplinary R&D team in the Nijmegen region. You will develop, execute, and report on system-level and IC-level validation for automotive infotainment products, working closely with hardware and firmware teams.

The role emphasizes automated validation, robust reporting, and collaboration across System Architects, Development Teams, and Validation specialists to ensure top-quality products before market release.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong interest in electronics design, validation, and testing.
  • Experience in software development through work experience, internships, or academic projects.
  • Experience within the semiconductor, embedded systems, or automotive industry is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of Software Engineering and the Systems Development Lifecycle.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, C, or C++.

Responsibilities

  • Release product updates at IC and application level meeting customer acceptance criteria.
  • Define and develop test cases covering system and IC-level requirements.
  • Translate manual tests into automated validation environments.
  • Execute validation tests and report results and findings.
  • Collaborate with validation team and contribute to validation planning and execution.
  • Monitor validation progress, risks and issues.
  • Document validation use cases and maintain project documentation/databases.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within validation processes.

Job description

For an innovative international technology company operating in the semiconductor and automotive electronics industry, we are looking for a Validation Engineer to join a highly skilled R&D team in the Nijmegen region. This organization develops advanced connectivity, infotainment, and driver assistance solutions that are integrated into vehicles worldwide. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and reporting on system-level and IC-level validation activities for cutting-edge automotive products, with a strong focus on Automotive Car Radio and Infotainment Systems.

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Location: Nijmegen region, Netherlands

Contract: Long-term assignment with the possibility of detavast (temporary-to-permanent employment)

Key Responsibilities
  • Release product updates at both IC and application level that meet customer acceptance criteria.
  • Define and develop comprehensive test cases covering all system and IC-level requirements.
  • Translate complex manual laboratory tests into efficient and reliable automated validation environments.
  • Execute validation tests and provide clear reporting on results and findings.
  • Collaborate closely with the validation team and actively contribute to validation planning and execution.
  • Monitor and communicate validation progress, risks, and issues.
  • Define and document validation use cases and maintain accurate project documentation and databases.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the validation process.
The Team

You will become part of a multidisciplinary System Application & Validation Team working on advanced automotive infotainment solutions, including traditional AM/FM technologies and various digital radio standards.

The team plays a key role in validating the interaction between hardware and firmware before products are released to customers. Close collaboration takes place with System Architects, Development Teams, Marketing, and other validation specialists to ensure products meet the highest quality standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong interest in electronics design, validation, and testing.
  • Experience in software development, gained through work experience, internships, or academic projects.
  • Experience within the semiconductor, embedded systems, or automotive industry is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of Software Engineering and the Systems Development Lifecycle.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more of the following:
    • Python
    • LabVIEW (CLAD)
    • TestStand
    • C
    • C++
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
