Job summary

Van Herk Kaas in Bodegraven, the Netherlands, seeks a Head of Finance to lead the financial administration and drive the month-end and year-end close.

You will forecast cash flow, working capital and liquidity, set KPIs, and prepare reports and budgets for management and shareholders. You will also manage export terms in multiple currencies and push automation with AI, leveraging Business Central. Fluent Dutch and English are required.

Qualifications

We're hiring a Head of Finance!

Van Herk Kaas is a family business founded in 1897 and based in Bodegraven, the Netherlands. We supply dairy, cheese and other food products to ship suppliers, cruise lines and trading partners. We work in an international trading environment, with customers and suppliers both inside and outside Europe: from the United Kingdom and Poland to Turkey and the Middle East.

We are in the middle of a new build-up phase and growing fast. Our finance function is far from finished: you will largely build it yourself. That means a lot of freedom and room for your own ideas.

What you will do:

lead the financial administration and the month-end and year-end close

cash flow, working capital and liquidity forecasts

set up KPIs and benchmarks to measure and improve our financial and operational processes

reports and budgets for management and shareholders

payment terms, credit insurance and securities for exports, in multiple currencies

get more out of Business Central and automate wherever possible, including with AI

Who we are looking for:

a degree in finance, accounting or business economics

at least five years of experience in finance, including several with final responsibility

you enjoy working with figures and KPIs and turn them into concrete improvements

fluent Dutch and English

experience with new systems such as AI is a plus

You report directly to the owners. Full-time, 40 hours, € 5,700 – € 6,800 gross per month.
