We are seeking a University Teacher to teach courses in data analytics and AI and to supervise student projects, including bachelor’s and master’s thesis projects. Teaching responsibilities include developing and continuously updating course materials based on the latest scientific advances. This is especially important in the rapidly evolving fields of data analytics and AI, because courses must incorporate up-to-date AI methods, tools, and techniques. At the same time, students need to develop the skills to use AI responsibly and effectively as part of their learning process. You will play a key role in equipping students with both a strong theoretical foundation and the practical competencies to do this.
The position is based in the Information Systems group, in the Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences (IE&IS) department at Eindhoven University of Technology. You will be working with our professors, PhD students, and teaching assistants to deliver high-quality education. The Information Systems group develops methods, tools, and techniques that support the entire lifecycle of Information Systems development, including advanced analytics and AI. It focuses on leveraging data analytics and AI to enhance organizational decision-making. Applications across various sectors are studied, with a focus on healthcare, transportation and logistics, services, smart industry, mobility, and energy. As a member of the group, you will contribute to teaching students how to improve organizational decision making with data science and AI.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality course materials, teaching lectures and tutorials, designing assignments and exams, and supervising student projects, including bachelor’s and master’s thesis projects. In addition, 20% of your time will be dedicated to education-related research.
The position is initially offered for a period of six months on a full-time basis or up to twelve months on a part-time basis. The appointment can be combined with another part-time position, such as a role at another institution or an existing PhD or postdoctoral appointment at TU/e. Depending on performance and available funding, there may be opportunities to extend the appointment or move to a permanent position.
