Job summary

Optics11 is expanding its Underwater Acoustics R&D team with an Acoustic Signal Processing Engineer who will tackle challenging problems at the intersection of signal processing, applied mathematics, physics, and software engineering.

You will contribute to the development of advanced sonar processing algorithms, mathematical models, and software for next-generation fiber-optic sensing systems, collaborating with experts across disciplines in challenging environments.

Qualifications

MSc or equivalent in a quantitative field such as Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science.
1–3 years of research/development experience in sensing systems, wave phenomena, or a PhD in a relevant area.
Strong background in physical modelling, underwater acoustics, wave propagation, or signal processing.

Responsibilities

Execute acoustic modelling and signal processing tasks for underwater sensing systems.
Analyze and interpret experimental data from laboratory and field trials.
Develop and test algorithms for beamforming, event detection, filtering, and data classification.
Document progress and present results to the team.
Collaborate with software, embedded, and hardware engineers to ensure smooth data flow and system testing.
Propose improvements to data handling, simulation scripts, and processing pipelines.
Share learnings and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.
