Job summary

Pieter Smit Group in the Netherlands seeks an experienced Vehicle Inspector to ensure trucks are fit for the road. You inspect, log defects, and coordinate with mechanics to avoid downtime. You perform APK checks (RDW guidelines), maintain accurate paperwork, and support continual improvement in the inspection process.

Qualifications

• Requires MBO level in automotive engineering or commercial vehicle technology.
• Valid Dutch APK inspector certificate (APK 1 and/or APK 2).
• Experience with trucks or heavy vehicles.
• Up-to-date knowledge of RDW regulations and inspection standards.
• Accurate, solution-oriented, with good communication to mechanics and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform APK (Periodic Technical Inspection) compliance checks according to RDW guidelines.
• Inspect vehicles for safety, technical condition, and environmental standards.
• Identify defects and log them accurately in the system.
• Coordinate with mechanics regarding repairs and priorities.
• Verify completed repairs prior to re-inspection.
• Contribute ideas to optimize the inspection process.
• Work closely with the workshop team and planning department.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately.
