Deloitte Financial Risk Management invites a thesis intern to contribute to actuarial research in the insurance sector. You will apply quantitative modelling and data analysis to real client problems.

The internship centers on writing your master's thesis and is closely mentored by a Deloitte supervisor. You will be part of the FRM talent pool and may work on projects, proposals or research for clients in Amsterdam.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in econometrics, mathematics, economics, (quantitative) finance or another science master's degree.
  • Available at least 3 days a week for at least 3 months.
  • Have a proposed thesis topic or interest in the research area.
  • Live in the Netherlands.
  • Affinity with the financial sector.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Affinity for quantitative modelling and/or programming.
  • Team player.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English (written and spoken).

  • Develop and communicate a strategic and innovative vision of the financial sector, in particular insurers, pension funds and asset managers.
  • Be able to engage with and advise on different (evolving) aspects of the financial sector.
  • Apply your skills to existing and new quantitative models and data analysis.
  • Translate technical results into stakeholder impact.
  • Build a large network in the financial sector and with like-minded people in the field of quantitative modelling.

  • You have an affinity with the financial sector.
  • You have excellent analytical skills.
