Job summary

Destinus is seeking a Testing Engineer to validate aerospace systems, propulsion units and UAV payloads, designing and executing rigorous test campaigns to push performance under demanding conditions. You will analyze real-world data, collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure compliance with DO-160/MIL-STD where applicable, and lead investigations to improve reliability in high-stakes environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience with aerospace testing methodologies (environmental, structural, propulsion tests).
  • Proficiency with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans and protocols for aerospace systems, propulsion units, and UAV payloads.
  • Analyze test data to assess performance, identify anomalies and optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering to refine designs based on test outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and safety regulations.
  • Manage testing facilities and equipment, calibrations and maintenance.
  • Lead investigations into failures and improve system reliability.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing and quality teams to integrate testing requirements.
  • Support field testing campaigns including environmental and real-world tests.

What You’ll Do

Requirements
What You’ll Need

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s orMaster’s degreein Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with aerospace testing methodologies, including environmental, structural, or propulsion system testing.
  • Proficiency in test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with testing software(e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, or equivalent).
  • Understanding of aerodynamics, propulsion, and system integration principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skillsand ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills—you’llbe working across multiple disciplines.
  • Englishproficiency(our working language).
Nice-to-Have
  • Experience withexplosive testing, kinetics, or high-speed aerodynamics.
  • Knowledge ofregulatory requirements for aerospace testing (DO-160, MIL-STD-810, etc.).
  • Familiarity withhypersonic or high-speedflight testingmethodologies.
  • Experience withcomputational fluid dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Previous experience inwind tunnel or flight test environments.
