Job summary

BDO USA, PC's Technology Risk Assurance internship invites energetic self-starters who want to apply accounting, IS, and computer science knowledge to real client work. You will assist in problem solving, document controls, and gain coaching from experienced team members.

This internship exposes you to IS controls and audit processes while building client relationships. Educational pursuit in accounting or information systems is preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems, required
• Pursuing a Masters in Information Systems or other relevant advanced degree, preferred
• Past leadership experience, preferred
• Prior internship or work study experience in information systems and operational auditing, preferred

Responsibilities

• Documents and tests application and automated controls on a wide range of software application packages
• Assists in the preparation of audit reports and recommendations associated with IS audit work performed
• Participates in the review of internal controls based on Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements
• Develops and maintains relationships with client personnel and management
• Conducts client interviews to obtain relevant information for non-complex clients
• Performs walkthroughs of client controls
• Documents controls, tests performed and results
• Prepares workpapers in the required format
• Applies IS audit principles and guidelines to non-complex client environment
• Other duties as required
